Brassroots of London, Ontario has received a grant from Ontario Trillium Foundation to hold its second competition for young brass players between the ages of 16 and 20. The competition will be held in London on Saturday, November 28, 2009.

Brassroots will receive audition recordings until October 1, 2009. These should be provided on a CD. The twelve strongest performances of contrasting solos will be selected for the finals.

The first competition was held in 2007. It was a great success, showcasing some extremely talented young brass players.

We are hoping that our second competition will encourage many young musicians (resident in the Province of Ontario) to compete for generous prizes and to benefit from the advice of adjudicators, experts in the field of brass performance.
